Choc Bit Cookies

This recipe is from the magazine Super Food Ideas.

500g (about 1 pound) butter, room temperature
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
395g (about 14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
5 cups self-raising flour
3 x 250g (about 18 oz total) chocolate chips (fun to mix three different types of chips, like milk, dark and white)

1) Preheat oven to 180*C (355*F). Grease and line baking trays. Using an electric mixer, cream butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add sweetened condensed milk, while beating.

2) Add flour to butter mixture one cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon. After flour is added mix in chocolate chips.

3) Roll heaped tablespoon fulls of cookie dough into balls (about 1 1/2 inches in diameter) and place onto trays making sure to leave room for spreading. If you're baking two trays at a time, bake for about 18 to 20 minutes. One tray takes about 15 minutes or until golden brown on the top.

4) Allow to cool on trays for about 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
